The SEM Tech System is our exclusive refinishing process that has been developed with 33 years of refinishing experience. Our refinishing process is different to that of our competitors in that our products have been developed by our company. With our vast knowledge of the refinishing industry, we have put together a superior system of;

• Preparation
• Priming and Bonding
• Acrylic polymer Finish Coat

We have one of the best refinishing systems in the industry, but more importantly ALL work is performed by the owner of SEM, which assures 100% quality control. Other refinishing companies may have quality products, but may not have quality refinishers. In our trade you must be an Artisan and it takes years of training to achieve results that of a Professional Refinisher. The SEM Tech System steps;

• The floors from your homes entrance to the Bathroom are covered to insure cleanliness.
• Initial inspection of the Bathtubs condition is performed.
• We discuss the process with you the owner and give an estimated completion time, which typically takes 2 - 6 hours.
• ALL caulk is completely removed where the tub meets the tile and floor. Some cheaper refinishing companies may not remove the caulk and refinish over it or may only cut the caulk off the tub and leave caulk on your tile, leaving you to have to remove it yourself. See a Photo
• If your Bathtub has been previously painted or refinished, we will need to strip the coating off to the original porcelain. Cheaper refinishing companies may only sand the old coating and spray over it. We never trust another companies coating for adhesion and will always strip all coatings. See a Photo
• A powerful 2400 cfm ventilator is installed to help remove dust and any odors. Cheaper companies may not ventilate at all or use an inferior ventilator that is inadequate for proper removal of dust and fumes. See a Photo
• If the Bathtub is badly pitted, worn, or has chemical damage, we may need to grind it down first. See a Photo
• The Tub is chemically cleaned to insure proper Ph values and proper adhesion of our coating.
• All surface imperfections are filled in with a water proof polyester filler and then sanded smooth. See a Photo
• All areas of your bathroom are properly protected with tarps, masking paper, and masking plastic. Less experience companies do not protect your bathroom properly such as only covering up to 12 - 18 inches of your tile surround allowing over spray to accumulate, we mask a minimum of 48 inches. • The Bathtub is primed with our exclusive molecular Bonding agent called SEMZ Fuze.
• 3 full coats of our acrylic polymer is applied. The inside and outside of the tub is always treated equally, as cheaper companies will cut corners with the outside of the tub by not preparing, priming, or top coating the same as the outside. The outside is subject to fail if not properly refinished. See a Photo

Once the refinishing is completed, the bathtub must cure for 48 hours. We never use Mega cure or accelerated coating that dry in 4 - 12 hours because they will prematurely fail. These coatings have been chemically altered and "cook" themselves shorting the life of the coating. Coatings that dry slower cure out naturally and are more durable and last much longer.
